We added a second cabin in September, 2008 and a third in
October, 2009. We have been doing many upgrades since we
began our ministry in November, 2007. The costs have grown too
much for us to finance personally and we are suggesting a
donation of $150 for your week. Comparable housing at Pickett
State Park would be $700 for the week. You might consider asking
your church to pay this donation for your retreat week.
There is no suggested donation for the camper site.
If this suggested donation is a financial burden, please let us
know. All of God's children need rest.
With donations we have been able to provide travel expense
money to one large family who had not had a vacation in 12 years
and also pay for graduate school books for one pastor pursuing a
Church Leadership Ph.D.
You will need to furnish all of your own food.
We do not have a cleaning staff and guests are required to do the
following before they leave. Please allow 2-4 hours for doing your
laundry and cleaning the cabins.
As a condition of staying in a Christian Pastor Retreat cabin you
are agreeing to leave the cabin as clean as you found it. If you did
not find the cabin as clean and tidy as you would have liked, please
leave it that way for the next guests.
CLEANING TASKS:
1. Strip beds. Wash, dry, fold and put away towels and sheets.
If you don’t have time to dry your laundry, leave it in the washer
and the next guests will take care of drying and putting away.
2. CLEAN DRYER FILTER
3. Clean kitchen sinks
4. Wipe down kitchen counters and refrigerator
5. Empty and clean out refrigerator
6. Clean stove top and oven
7. Bag and take out all trash to trash can
8. Clean kitchen trash container and put in a fresh bag
9. Vacuum or sweep floor and/or rugs. Shake out throw rugs.
10. Scrub sink, shower, and toilet in bathroom
11. Clean bathroom mirror and faucets
12. If Laundry Room is untidy, put it back in a tidy condition.
